Letter from the Presidents
What a vision!
Over 15 years ago, Tracy knew the Philadelphia region had a wealth of highly talented female professionals across all specialties in the investment industry. But we were fragmented; connections and friendships were built within an individual’s firm. So, she convinced a friend, Sharon Hayman, to help create an organization focused on professional development and networking, building a community of powerful connections.
Fast forward to 2024 and WIN has evolved into one of the region’s most esteemed professional and diverse networks, offering personal and professional development opportunities and fostering meaningful connections at every career level. We are proud to have hosted a record-breaking TEN events year-to-date, including a small dinner amid the peonies at Styers Peony Farm, conversations around AI at SEI and Cybersecurity at Brandywine, and our first Summer Sips happy hour at Hook and Ladder…with plenty more impactful events to come this year.
WIN is a warm and welcoming community, and for those new to WIN and perhaps uncomfortable with, or dislike networking, we can help you start a conversation so you can build and foster important, meaningful relationships.
Your first event will be the start of your WIN journey. When you arrive be open to sharing that you’re new (we all were at one time) or ask a group if you can join their conversation and mention you’re new to WIN.
For those of us who are more comfortable entering an event with a friend, you don’t have to go it alone. When registering for an event, drop our Administrator (the amazing Colleen Wortley), an email to let her know you’d like a helping hand (or voice) to get you started and connect you to a WIN leader planning to be in attendance.
Finally, after attending an event, don’t forget that a key piece of building relationships is to follow up with your new contacts to help grow them into powerful connections and treasured friends.
